چکیده

Wildfires are complex phenomena, both in time and space, ecosystems. The ability to understand wildfire dynamics predict the behaviour of propagating fire is essential at same a challenging practice. A common approach investigate such phenomena making most power numerical models simulators. Improved more accurate methods for simulating indispensable managing suppression plans controlled burns, decreasing fuel load having better assessment risk mitigation methodologies. This paper focused on investigation existing simulator applicable predicting spread wind interaction. available software packages outlined with their broad range applications dynamic modeling. Significance each work associated shortcomings critically reviewed. Finally, advanced simulations designs, assumptions, considerations improving simulations, knowledge gaps scientific research suggestions achieve efficient developments this area revisited.

Validation of a physics-based fire spread model and simulation method on a large wildfire accident

An operational wildland fire model need to be robust and accurate. In this study, a physical model of fire spread is presented and used to perform simulation with an asynchronous method. The aim of this work is to provide an efficient simulation method capable of providing resutls in less than a minute and a resolution of a few meters using a physical model. The proposed simulation software is ...

Physical Approximations for Urban Fire Spread Simulations

The issue of fire propagation in cities is of obvious importance to Civil Authorities, but does present issues of computational complexity. Our basic assumption is that some event has occurred to disrupt the normal damage prevention infrastructure, i.e. the Fire Department, so that the fire spreads unhindered through the city. For the most part, the spread of fire is stopped inside the building...

Sensitivity of atypical lateral fire spread to wind and slope

This study presents new knowledge of the environmental sensitivity of a dynamic mode of atypical wildland fire spread on steep lee-facing slopes. This is achieved through a series of idealized numerical simulations performed with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) and WRF-Fire coupled atmosphere-fire models. The sensitivity of the atypical lateral fire spread across lee slopes is tested...

wind effect on wildfire and simulation of its spread (case study: siahkal forest in northern iran)

lack of fire behavior studies and the immediate needs posed by the extent of the fire problem in forests of iran require that extensive studies be conducted to develop models to predict fire behavior in the region.in this study, farsite fire area simulator was applied to simulate spread and behavior of two real fires that had occurred in northern forests of iran during 2010 summer and fall seas...

DEVS-FIRE: design and application of formal discrete event wildfire spread and suppression models

DEVS-FIRE is a discrete event system specification (DEVS) model for simulating wildfire spread and suppression. It employs a cellular space model to simulate fire spread and agent models that interact with the cellular space to simulate fire suppression with realistic tactics. The complex interplay among forest cells and agents calls for formal treatment of the fire spread and fire suppression ...
